Guidelines for Preparation of E-Poster Submission
E-poster is the electronic version (one .ppt slide) of the traditional, printed poster, except that it is viewable on screen. The entire process of creating, submitting, managing and presenting e-poster online will be done electronically, without the need to print it out, transport it and then display it at a specific Congress Hall.
All e-posters upon the approval of their respective author will also be available on the website of the Congress.
All E-posters should be submitted following the guidelines below:
- File Type: “.ppt” or “.pptx“ format and “.pdf”
- One page
- Orientation: Portrait
- Size 28.575 cm width X 50.8 cm height (1080 X 1920 pixels)
- Images in the file should be “.jpg” or “.png” format at 72 dpi resolution
- Font size: > 14 pt
- One can use the colours, font and background that one prefers. Please take caution: one must use a visible colour combination
Since an e-poster is a visual presentation of information, we encourage you to keep text to a minimum and rely on clear graphs, charts, tables and relevant pictures to communicate information. Text should focus on the main points of the information and findings you want to convey. Your e-poster should not be a copy of your paper glued on a board.
Organise the e-poster in logical sections using simple, but prominent headings such as: Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion & Conclusions, etc. A section on applicability to the industry should be included where possible. If appropriate, some useful complementary information (key references, websites, etc.) can be included.
Use clear, simple and appropriate graphics to break up the text. Ensure sections are labelled (or numbered) and appear in a clear order. The use of colour, photographs and three-dimensional arrangements (attached to the poster) can make your display more attractive! Remember that colour contrast is important, but use colour sensibly: avoid clashing colours or too bright colours as these detract from significance.
To stimulate interaction the organizers encourage the use of a passport-size photo of the presenting author to be fixed on the right hand side of the e-poster.
During the plenary session, the e-poster presenter will have the opportunity to make a brief introduction to his paper accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation, the duration of which should not exceed 2 minutes. The 2 minute presentation is obligatory for all the accepted e-posters, in order to be allowed to be included in the Congress’ scientific programme.
After the session, desktop computers will be available in a specific hall of the Congress venue, where delegates will be able to access any e-poster of their choice at any time and as often as they want. At the same time, large screens will also be installed in a specially arranged area of the Congress venue, in order to screen the e-posters on a rotating basis.
Papers of the accepted e-posters will be published in the book of papers.
