Athanasios Theodorou is Professor Emeritus of the University of Thessaly, specializing in Oceanography and Marine Sciences. He has an extensive academic and research background, is the author of three scientific textbooks and has published numerous research papers in international journals. In 2013, he was unanimously elected Professor Emeritus of the University of Thessaly.

His pioneering achievements have created new opportunities for future generations and enhanced the global reputation of Greek ichthyologists worldwide.
Filippos Papageorgiou is an Aquaculture Consultant with over 30 years of experience in aquaculture development, strategic planning and responsible governance. He has collaborated with major international organisations, including the European Commission, FAO and the World Economic Forum, and held senior leadership positions in Saudi Arabia’s national aquaculture development programmes. He currently serves as Coordinator of FAO/GFCM’s Technical Advisory Group on Governance and Responsible Investment in Aquaculture.
