University of Thessaly
The University of Thessaly was founded in 1984 (along with the Aegean and Ionian Universities). The city of Volos was designated as the central location of the University. The central vision of the University of Thessaly is to establish itself as a modern, pioneering European university that plays a leading role in education, research, and social contribution. It aims to respond with speed, flexibility, and efficiency to the challenges of an ever-evolving, internationalized, and multifaceted academic and social environment. The Department of Ichthyology & Aquatic Environment (DIAE) was founded within the framework of an innovative perspective in order to cover the increasing demand on novel academic courses regarding related scientific topics on aquatic living resources.
